Commissioning in Healthcare is a CPD Certified event
The content of the Conference and Seminars at Commissioning in Healthcare have been independently assessed by the CPD Certification Service and officially conforms to universally accepted CPD guidelines.
April 1st 2013 saw the Health and Social Care Act 2012 come into full effect. With this, NHS England (formerly the NHS Commissioning Board) gained full statutory powers, all 211 Clinical Commissioning Groups became authorised and replace Primary Care Trusts, and 152 Health and Wellbeing Boards took position, tasked with providing strong representation for local communities.
In the reformed NHS landscape, the power to commission services has been transferred to the local setting, with CCGs deciding which services their communities require. With this commissioning reform, the healthcare system looks to ensure local healthcare is more patient driven and has a focus on improving health outcomes for the population.
But change on this scale will inevitably create challenges and the impact of these reforms will take time to manifest and ultimately be measured.
So, six-months on, Commissioning in Healthcare 2013 will provide you with a timely, and free, opportunity to examine and understand the results and challenges to-date, reflect on the successes, share best practice, and to discuss and debate where improvements and developments in clinical commissioning can be made. This is a day not to be missed and will be an essential meeting and gathering for all those involved in commissioning.
Through a high level conference, extensive seminar programme and an exhibition of leading suppliers (private and third sector), it will draw together the leading figures, key organisations and best practice case studies to explore the agenda and illustrate how the reforms are focusing the delivery of care on clinically led, patient focused outcomes. It will provide information on latest policy, an opportunity to network with over 2000 senior leaders and managers facing similar challenges, and a chance to find the latest solutions, suppliers and innovative technologies which can help you improve services and reduce costs in your area.
